Movement of the vocal folds – 3 years post Vocal Fold Polyp Surgery.

Kia Ora, this short video shows the movement of the vocal folds whilst singing. You can see that when I breathe, the vocal folds open to reveal the trachea (or wind pipe). When I sing an Uh (It is very hard so sing when someone is holding onto your tongue with a camera on a long stick in your throat.) you can see that the vocal folds come together, swinging almost (not vibrating) to create the pitch.

This is 3 years after my vocal operation in 2017 for a vocal fold polyp & hemorrhage. As you can see, my vocal folds have healed perfectly & the tone is clear.

This is a video of my own vocal folds at an ENT check up at the start of 2020.

🤟 Let’s be kind to one another and celebrate listening to wonderful music as a community. 🤟
